ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra organizes a District Kisan Mela at Basar.

Desperately and dedicatedly engaging itself  in organizing a series of agricultural extension programmes in the 3 districts of Arunachal Pradesh, namely West Siang, Lower Siang and Lepa Rada, Basar based Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Indian Council of Agricultural Research Complex for NEH Region Umiam Meghalaya has organized another mega show of Agricultural Technologies on 6th March 2019 in ITBP Ground Basar, Lepa Rada guiding and supporting more than 1000 farmers, entrepreneurs and rural youth to double their income by 2022. On this occasion more than 25 stakeholders including Govt departments, ITBP, NGOs, Self Help Groups, and progressive Farmers showcased various technologies in the field of Soil Science, Crop science, plant Protection, Nutrient Management, Animal science, Home science, Forestry, Fisheries, skill development, etc. Besides, apprising about various schemes of present govt, on this occasion a farmers- scientist Interaction programme was also convened for on the spot solving all kinds of technical problems of farmers.  Displaying a unique symbiosis of agriculture and Border security, both ITBP and KVK joined hands to help farmers and rural community through various activities. Interestingly the ITBP Basar under the leadership of its Commandant shri  Rishi Raj Singh and his Team often extend its social services support to the area farmers.

The Mela was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Ashwani Kumar Dogra DIG, ITBP, Chaired by Dr. H. Kalita, Joint Director, ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre and organized  by the team of KVK West Siang and ICAR Centre under the Leadership of  Dr. Chitrangad Singh Raghav, Senior scientist-cum-Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, basar, Arunachal Pradesh

The event was graced by distinguished Guests of Honour Honble Judge, Basar, Lepa Rada,  Justice Lobsang Tenzing, Judge Ms Shweta Chauhan, IPS, SP Lepa Rada and Shri Rishi Raj Singh, Commandant ITBP Basar.

On this occasion, a scientist- farmers interaction was the integral part of event where in the experts of KVk Dr. MS. Baruah, Dr. AK Kumar, Mr. KS Singh, Dr. Deepa Lal, Mr. Debashis, Ms Bharti Saloi and Ms Wangnem Rekhang and Scientists of ICAR Centre Dr. R. Alone, and Ms Ampi were available for interaction. Dr. K Suraj Singh of KVK coordinated over activities of the event.
